The project’s objective was to develop an optimisation framework for high-performance computing solutions, encompassing a comparative analysis of performance profiling tools with a focus on the application of these tools to specific facets of optimisation.

The set of profiling tools consisted of three open source solutions (TAU, HPCToolkit and Valgrind) and one proprietary (Vtune).

The document and processes set up by this project will be able to used as part of a long-term process at VPAC to support optimisation of HPC codes for our Members and clients.
