Melbourne Research Cloud Forum

Location: Alan Gilbert Building - Theatre 3, Room 121 - Level 1, University of Melbourne, Grattan Street,Carlton, VIC 3053 Australia

Event Date: Thursday, 8 November 2012 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM (EST)

Event Details: At the next research cloud forum we've got a special session on Exploring Data on the Cloud!

You'll hear from Jon Pearce, Computing and Information Systems (CIS) whose area is researching ways in which they can support people exploring information on the Web - as opposed to searching for it. CIS have developed an exploration engine called iFISH which is hosted on the Research Cloud and is the underlying technology for several research projects. Come along and hear about the nature of this exploration process and see a demonstration on some of the applications that have been developed using it.

This forum is open to everyone (even outside the University), especially for those who are interested in learning about the NeCTAR Research Cloud Computing Service and how it can be used in Research. Don’t forget to also bring along your questions and comments about the Research Cloud.
