Robust Health Information Systems Integration is vital in ensuring the accurate linking of data from inconsistent, heterogeneous and disparate health care databases across departments and across institutions. Electronic health information systems are comprised of numerous and assorted software packages and applications. As these applications advance, the need for information sharing between systems increases. An increasing number of programs on the internal network demand to see patient admission, discharge and transfer data in real time to have the most accurate view of the health care organisation.

With the myriad of health care protocols and software applications that exist in the industry, designing and implementing integration services is no trivial matter.
