Ann is the Executive Director of VPAC and VeRSI ( Ann has a PhD in Informatics from the University of London (UCL) and has held leadership roles in academic organizations and major research initiatives in Australia, Canada and the UK, and sits on a number of national and international project committees, most recently the Human Variome Project Steering Committee (2012-). Her research pursuits encompass health informatics, translational research, assistive technology, and eResearch. Positions include: Executive Director, Victorian eResearch Strategic Initiative (2008-) awarded State funds of $11m to present. eResearch Programme (2005-2008) with the JISC (UK). Responsible for portfolio of R&D funds granted by HEFCE and the UK Research Councils to build a UK wide e-Infrastructure to support research, grid, open source software, data and authentication services. Member of the UK Office of Science and Innovation e-Infrastructure Working Group, 2006-7; Head of Collections Multimedia (2000-2004), National Museum of Science and Industry: comprising the Science Museum (London), National Railway Museum (York) and National Museum of Photography, Film and Television (Bradford). 1999-2001 an interactive open courseware initiative led by Columbia University.
