David Jones joined VPAC at the start of 2007 as part of the SAFE Vehicles project. His role is to focus upon the system integration aspects of the project. David has a Master of Engineering (Computer Systems) from RMIT and a BSc(Hon) from Melbourne University in Physics. He also has a Bachelor and Diploma in Education as well as Graduate Diploma in Computer Engineering. David was previously a lecturer in Computer Engineering developing and teaching a range of courses in embedded systems, software systems, mobile devices, e-commerce and parallel processing. He took the lead in introducing .NET courses which was recognised by Microsoft. He also introduced courses in Windows CE with which his students have been successful on the international stage. David is a Windows CE and XP Embedded trainer and developer. He has developed a close liaison with Microsoft for some time and has been invited to attend and speak at a number of their academic and industry conferences.
